"Teaching Makes Me Smile" 1st/2nd Grade + Freebies!


I have a giveaway coming up on March 10th.  I wanted to host a giveaway for all of you wonderful teachers out there!  Teaching is a wonderful thing, but also can be tiring.  For me, I am so grateful that teaching still makes me smile :)

I will be having two giveaway contests.  We will have two lucky winners, one is for ages Pre-K and K and the other 1st and 2nd.  I wanted to showcase these wonderful teachers and their products.  I hope that you will find some amazing ideas and some inspiration!

Morgan Hunt donated Exploring Space: {A Space mini-unit with an Astronaut Craftivity}.  This fun mini-unit will get your students excited about exploring space! From keeping a moon journal to crafting their own astronaut, students will learn about topics like day versus night and objects in the sky (specifically the sun, moon, stars, and some common constellations). This mini-unit is aligned with the TEKS and is a great resource for C-SCOPE users. :)

Grasty's Goodies donated Words Their Way- Letter Name Alphabetic Spellers.  Are you looking for worksheets to enhance your Word Study instruction? This document includes worksheets that go along with EACH sort found in the Words Their Way - Letter Name Alphabetic Spellers program. There is a fill-in-the-blank worksheet and word sort worksheet. These worksheets are great because they require students to practice spelling the words but they also work on developing vocabulary knowledge of the words. A Teacher Mom donated Blends Phonics Games Pack.  Here are some GREAT games that you can try with your kiddos as tier 1 instruction or for use in small groups during RTI or small group time. First Grade Buddies donated Math Bags for 1st grade: Spring Edition. 
Seasonal Math Bags are 10 seasonal themed math activities that can be done independently. Seasonal Math Bags focus on a small range of objectives. Classroom Creative donated a Subtraction Game- Don't Melt the Ice Cream.   This game can be used as a center, small group activity or take home practice game to help students master subtraction facts. For this game students each get an ice cream cone (included in the download) and take turns picking cards out of a bag. On most cards (24 included) they will be asked to solve a subtraction problem, but look out for the 6 included melt cards that will melt your ice cream! Mrs. Plemon's Kindergarten donated Writing VOICES Bulletin Board Headers and Goal Cards.  These cards are used in a similar manner to CAFE goal strategy cards.
